A proud recipient of various National and International awards from reputed institutions such as IIID (Institute of Indian Interior Designers), AICA (Artisan in Concrete Award) and the most coveted award of Europe - an AIT award for her project (Mudra House) – She is truly an inspiration to all professionals.
Alpa is an Architect from Rachana Sansad's Academy of Architecture. Backed by an experience of more than 2 decades, her unflinching commitment towards creating a future of Sustainable Architecture ensures that each square feet developed is Green.
Mudra House, located in Mumbai is a 8-story building and home to over 450 Mudraites across Mumbai, under one roof. It is an 'iconic expression where Contextual Architecture is reflected in Contemporary Style' - the architect says.
The building was designed to be responsive to micro climatic conditions. The strategic use of glass for the recessed windows and the 8 storey atrium on the northern axis remarkably reduced the heat entering in the building. This not only gave a chic look to the building but also made it Green.' SSA further devised a matrix for choosing the green materials to earn a LEED Gold certification.
The complementing interior with the concept of a palette of color box was adopted and it best reflects Mudra's story of a cluster of multiple creative talent, where each talent has its own unique strength and core competency. To translate the Indian character into Architectural reality, 'innovative Warli pictograph' was peppered along the interiors at strategic locations.
This makes the journey through Mudra, both wonderful and unique. And a milestone in Alpa's remarkable journey towards Green & Sustainable Architecture.
